Green

Associate Exam Prep Course

LEED-Green-Associate-Credential

The Green Associate Credential is the globally recognized foundational sustainability credential. Whether you plan to be involved directly or indirectly in LEED, this credential carried by many sustainability professionals communicates that you are continually learning sustainability in your profession. The Green Associates is the first step to getting your LEED Accredited Professional (AP) and then your LEED Green Rater or LEED Fellow if you wish to continue to advance.

You may watch the introductory part 1 session to determine if this is a good pathway for you and understand the details presented in the additional seven parts that will introduce you to the green associate’s program, sustainable business, and green building.

Additional Modules Include

  1. LOCATION AND TRANSPORTATION
  2. SUSTAINABLE SITES
  3. WATER EFFICIENCY
  4. ENERGY & ATMOSPHERE
  5. MATERIALS & RESOURCES
  6. INDOOR ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY
  7. INNOVATION IN DESIGN | Summary | Next Steps

During the entire 8-part series, we will go over the seven aspects of sustainability in the built environment, what you need to know about these for LEED, what new technology and ideas are implemented, and take the practice exams to prepare you for your Green Associate exam.

Presenter

Brett Little, LEED AP Homes, and Green Rater have been instructing, learning, engaging, consulting, and rating LEED projects for over a decade. While traditional Green Associate courses often focus on the commercial sector, Brett will bring a unique perspective from his career in residential green building to this class as the places we live become more important to the business sector with work from home and buildings being converted to living spaces as we face a major housing shortage.

Cost

The course cost is free for GreenHome Institute members and West MI Green Affordable Housing team members. Other agencies may provide stipends or discounts as well. The full course cost is $100.00, but the first module is available to watch for free.
